Fundamentals of Project Controls Management is a half day workshop that covers the leadership and management of a project controls team.
This session investigates how the Project Control team fits within the greater management team, how the various areas of a project controls team interface and how they interact with departments outside of project controls. We look at the various project control roles, what their deliverables should be and what input they need from the greater project management team.
This session addresses:
- The makeup of project teams;
- Types of projects;
- Owners function vs. EPCM vs. Contractor;
- Project Phases;
- What activities must be undertaken during each phase of a project;
This program also addresses some of the generic skills that project controls professionals must possess, such as understanding project drawings; Key project quantities; P&ID’s; attending a design review; work break down structures; cost coding and chart of accounts; project execution plan; procedures; work instructions; and commissioning and handover.
